Project Development Manager
Closing date: 18 November 2025
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Type: Full-Time
The Role:
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Project Development Manager to lead the development of groundbreaking renewable energy projects across wind, solar, green hydrogen, and ammonia derivatives. You will leverage your unique blend of project development expertise and computing skills to optimize project lifecycles, from greenfield site identification to financial close. This role is perfect for someone who wants to use technology to accelerate the energy transition.
What You'll Do

-
Lead End-to-End Development: Manage the entire project development lifecycle for complex renewable energy projects, including site identification, feasibility analysis, permitting, securing offtake agreements (PPAs), and supporting financial close.
-
Data-Driven Planning & Execution: Utilize programming skills (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to analyze large datasets for site selection, energy yield forecasting, resource assessment, and economic modeling to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
-
Advanced Project Management: Develop dynamic, data-integrated project plans using advanced features of Jira, Asana, or custom solutions. Manage timelines, allocate resources, and meticulously track budgets, creating automated dashboards for real-time reporting.
-
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including internal executives, landowners, grid operators, contractors, and government agencies, providing clear, data-backed updates.
-
Proactive Risk Mitigation: Identify, model, and mitigate project risks (e.g., permitting delays, interconnection studies, supply chain issues) using quantitative analysis and scenario planning tools.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment between engineering, construction, finance, legal, and commercial teams, often acting as the translator between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all projects are developed adhering to the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards, leveraging technology to streamline compliance tracking.
What We're Looking For:
-
Must-Have Experience: 5+ years of project development or management experience within the renewable energy sector, with a proven track record in wind, solar, green hydrogen, or ammonia projects.
-
Technical Proficiency: Strong background in computing/programming. Please specify your experience with languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, VBA, SQL) and how you've applied them to project development (e.g., automating reports, geospatial analysis, financial modeling, optimizing development workflows).
-
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the project development process, including permitting, interconnection, offtake structures, and financial modeling.
-
Project Management Expertise: Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and advanced use of tools like Jira, Asana, or Microsoft Project. PMP or similar certification is a plus.
-
Skills & Mindset: Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage remote and hybrid teams. A problem-solving mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and a track record of navigating complex challenges to successful completion.
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical field is strongly preferred. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
